Tanya Trail, CPM

In 2004, while working with displaced families and the homeless in Costa Rica, I realized women were not receiving proper care throughout their childbearing experience.  At that point I started researching how I could help and meet a community need.  I looking into the path of midwifery and found home birth midwifery to be the most holistically minded and freeing for facilitating families in their own environment, no matter how limiting medical oversight would be.  That became the start of my path to the CPM (certified professional midwife).  I then completed 6 years of education, a combination of schooling and a clinical apprenticeship with families in the US.  In 2010 I finished my studies and went on to open my own midwifery practice.  I have had the joy of supporting over 300 families from over 14 countries through their pregnancy, labors and postpartum periods. I’ve been able to have both an Atlanta based practice and also a Southeast Asia practice providing service over the last 10 years.

Client Reviews

”We know that birth takes a woman from one place in her life to another.  The birth of a child certainly does change her viewpoint of herself and I believe her viewpoint of the world”
